UPCOMING EVENTS -
Concerts, Workshops, Whatnot

2024 plans are... in planning.   Maybe I'll move to Portugal, learn the Cavaquinho and play songs by The Clash...

“One must still have chaos within in order to give birth to a dancing star.”  Nietzsche

PAST EVENTS...

Fri - Sat, Sept 28-29: QUARANTUNES 11
I'll be teaching three workshops I'm excited about:

On Friday the 29th, for more beginning players ('level 2') I'll be teaching Getting Confident with Rhythms: The most common strumming patterns for songs and tunes, especially 2/4 and 3/4 time. Songs will be Water Bound, Streets of Laredo, and Southwind.

On Saturday the 30th, for advanced intermediates (level 4) we have So Many Cool Tunes in A-minor! DGD + capo 1. How this tuning works! We’ll work on an old-time tune from fiddler Emmet Lundy, Highlander’s Farewell, and a haunting Irish jig, The Mist-Covered Mountains.

Also on Saturday the 30th, for intermediates (level 3) I’ll teach Playing in Chord-Melody Style D-A-D. We will find the melody notes within and around the chords, as well as ‘chording’ each note of a scale. We’ll apply this to 2 beautiful British Isles tunes: The Boys of Wexford and Prince William.

You should come out of any of these sessions with increased dexterity and musical chops!
